Success according to Emerson

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a little better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is the meaning of success.
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

What is the meaning of my success? At this moment, it’s a big smile on my face because I just came back from a 5 mile run, the sun is beaming in Seattle, Mom just dropped off really yummy cherry tomatoes from her garden. What would it be in 5 years? 10 years? Laughs, beauty, true friends and meaningful productivity … at every moment along the way.
