Tulip, a symbol for honesty and sincerity.
I have been working on my Personal Mission Statement for a while now. There are four categories: personal development, career, relationships, and community. This is one of those documents that is always a work in progress; It spans the continuum of one’s life. I was reviewing it again today, honesty appears in every category. Here are some of my favorite quotes on honesty:
Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom. –Thomas Jefferson
Integrity is not a conditional word. It doesn’t blow in the wind or change with the weather. It is your inner image of yourself, and if you look in there and see a man who won’t cheat, then you know he never will. –John D. MacDonald
Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values. –Ayn Rand
If you are reading this and you think there are pictures the better symbolize honesty, or the opposite, please let me know.
